The racer was an inspiration to women and girls after scoring three successive victories in the 2019 series of Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings.

She was also the first woman to break the 200 mph barrier in eighth-mile doorslammer racing with a 3.802-second run.

Lizzy Musi then made history again in July 2014 when she became the first woman to win a Pro Nitrous national event at the Professional Drag Racers Association US Drags.

Tributes have poured in for the 33-year-old racer who was open about her stage 4 triple-negative breast cancer diagnosis, which is one of the most aggressive types of breast cancer.

The cancer had spread to her lymph nodes and liver but Musi remained positive about her condition.

Last month, she shared that she had "great news" while receiving cancer treatment in Germany.

The driver did not elaborate but had previously revealed that she would be going to the Medias Klinikum treatment center in Burghausen, Germany.

"I’ve kind of tried everything here [in the US], and I’ve researched the doctor and treatment in Germany that can isolate my liver and treat it," Lizzy told Drag Illustrated last month.

"This just hurts my heart," one fan wrote underneath Pat's post which was shared on Musi's Facebook page.

"She was such an inspiration to young girls. I loved watching her race."

"One of the best women racers," another said.

"Her positive, happy personality was such an inspiration for younger generations. I can't believe this is true.

"Condolences to her family. Race high in heaven Lizzy."

'SOUL MATE'

Earlier this year, Musi publicly praised her boyfriend Jeffrey Earnhardt, the grandson of legendary Nascar driver Dale Earnhardt, for his unwavering support.

"This guy right here has supported me like no other from sleepless ER nights and dealing with my health to cheering me on at my races," Musi wrote on Instagram.

"This past weekend I got to watch him do his thing after a long off-season and he just straight killed it. @jearnhardt1 #thankful #oneofakind #howloveissupposetofeel."

The pair started dating in late 2023 following her split from racer Kyle Kelley.

In January, Musi gave an insight into her relationship with Earnhardt in a poignant Facebook post.

"I found a man when I least expected it, on top of going through the worst time in my life... it didn't phase him and he has loved me unconditionally since," she wrote.

"Hair no hair...sick or not he has seen me at my worst... Getting numerous calls to tell how beautiful and strong I am, talking on FaceTime with my wig off and still compliments me... I am so so thankful for you and it needs to be said Jeffrey Earnhardt."

Announcement of Lizzy Musi's Death:

Musi's father Pat shared the news of his daughter's death on Facebook on Thursday night.

"Surrounded by her Family, in the comfort of her own home, Lizzy was called to heaven at 11:25 pm tonight.

"Thank you for all the prayers and support throughout her battle.

"At this time, the family would like to have time to process, grief and make arrangements in peace.

"We will give an update as soon as we have information to share."

On Instagram, fans have called Earnhardt her "soulmate" and thanked the driver for "loving her the way she deserved" right to the end.

Condolences have been given to Earnhardt who has yet to publicly comment on her death.

At the end of April, he shared an update on Musi's return to racing after she competed at Virginia Motorsport Park in her '69 Camaro called Bonnie.

She and the team were "firing on all cylinders," her partner said.

HEARTBREAK

Musi's death comes just two months after that of fellow Street Outlaws star Nathan Schaldach, known as Cali Nate.

Nate died following a car crash in southwest Texas on April 6.

Schaldach was racing in Eagle Pass, which is about two hours west of San Antonio when he wrecked his car.

Despite being taken to the hospital, the racer died from his injuries.

His girlfriend Courtney Paulshock confirmed the news in a heartbreaking post on Facebook in which she said she was "shattered" after losing "her person."

Musi paid tribute to her colleague whom she called a "hell of a guy."

"Hard to wrap my mind around this one," she wrote on Instagram.

"We all know the risk when strapping into these cars.

"I had the privilege to race with Nate when we filmed the street shows in Vegas and Cali.

"A true street racer and one hell of a guy!#Godspeed."

Speaking of the relationship between Nate and Paulshock, Musi asked fans to keep his heartbroken girlfriend in their prayers.
