Yes, when paired with dimmable lightbulbs this fixture will work on a dimmer switch.

Hi there, unfortunately at this time we do not make the 2-light vanity in matte black and opal glass, just the single light sconce and the 3-light vanity.

- Can the glass shade be removed to get at the brass that holds the bulb and then the glass shade be put back on?
Yes, the glass shades can be removed. There are detailed instructions in the product manual, which you can view or download from the Product Specifications tab (below images). Hope that helps!

- If I install them on the patio what special care do I need to do?
These are indoor lights, so they would have to be protected from the elements if you install them outside but we dont recommend it.

- How bright are they?
The brightness would depend on the bulb you put in it. Just note that it should be an E26 bulb that will not exceed 60 watts and 120v per socket.

- Is there an on/off switch on the light itself?
No, this fixture needs to be installed on an electrical source with an external light switch.

- Can they be installed with the glass pointing up? Do I have to do anything special to make them work right that way?
The Light can be installed with the glass pointing up just follow the regular instructions with the glass facing the position you desire.
